Russian men experience dating

I went to college in an area with a lot of Russian women (and women from the Ukraine, which was once part of the Soviet Union).

When Russia and China vote together on UN Resolutions (such as their recent veto of the UN Resolution on Syria), I always think to myself that in the two countries’ collective unconscious they realize that they are going to have to, literally, marry each other someday soon. For a long time the reason was that World War II had wiped out the male population.

It’s harder to grasp why Russia has more women than men.

Most Russian families prepare their boys to become future men since the early childhood.

Parents encourage their sons to play with toy guns and rejoice when boys can stand up for themselves.

Russian men often give flowers to their wives, girlfriends, mothers or any woman who is important in their lives.

Giving flowers is a simple yet powerful sign of their love, and Russian women are accustomed to receiving flowers from their men.

Anyway, these are the ones you get serious with -- esp. Rock musician "E" from the Eels was married to one who was a doctor.

I recently was in touch with a singer from the East Coast whose FB page showed him with a taller, pleasant-looking blonde. Sure enough, her page said she went to school in "Kyiv, Ukraine." I don't want to "out" this guy here because making his relationship a spectacle might screw it up.

Often, they are traditional and close with their moms.

To me, they're like American women used to be in the '50s and '60s (contrary to feminist revisionism, women did have jobs and go to college then).

This happens on special occasions, such as birthdays, Valentine's day, and of course on Women's day.
